Itinerary

Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
The adventure begins at Machame Gate, with a trek through the lush rainforest that covers the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro. This day serves as a great introduction to the journey, gradually climbing to Machame Camp.

Elevation: 1,800m to 3,000m

Distance: 11 km

Time: 5-7 hours

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
After leaving the rainforest, you will continue ascending through moorlands and open terrain. The day ends at Shira Camp, located on the Shira Plateau, with magnificent views.

Elevation: 3,000m to 3,850m

Distance: 5 km

Time: 4-6 hours

Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
This is an important acclimatization day. You’ll trek to the Lava Tower, a volcanic formation at 4,600 meters, before descending to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” strategy helps your body adjust to the altitude.

Day 6: Summit Day (Uhuru Peak) and Descend to Mweka Camp
You will begin the final ascent to the summit around midnight, trekking under the stars to reach Stella Point and then Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After taking in the awe-inspiring views at the summit, descend to Mweka Camp for the night.

Descent: 5,895m to 3,100m (Mweka Camp)

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
On the final day, descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will celebrate your achievement and receive your summit certificates. From there, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
