After lunch at Lava Tower, you will descend into the lush Barranco Valley and arrive at Barranco Camp. This descent brings you to a lower altitude where you’ll rest for the night, helping your body adjust and recover from the higher altitude of Lava Tower. After reaching Stella Point at 5,739 meters (18,829 ft), you’ll continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak. Standing at Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, is an unforgettable experience, offering breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro’s glaciers and the surrounding landscape.

Hiking Distance: 10 km (6.2 miles)
Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
Habitat: Rainforest
On the final day, you will descend through the lush Montane Forest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll complete the registration process and receive your summit certificate—green for reaching Stella Point and gold for those who summited at Uhuru Peak.

The hike is easier and offers the chance to reflect on your incredible journey through Kilimanjaro’s diverse ecosystems. After reaching Mweka Gate, a vehicle will transport you back to Moshi or Arusha, where you can celebrate your achievement and enjoy a well-deserved rest.
