Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Arrival: Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
Transfer: To your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Meet your guide for a pre-climb briefing, equipment check, and rest before the trek.
Overnight: Hotel in Arusha/Moshi.
Day 2: Machame Gate (1,800m) to Machame Camp (2,835m)
Distance: 11 km
Hiking Time: 5-7 hours

After breakfast, drive to Machame Gate for registration. The trek begins through a lush rainforest, with towering trees, hanging vines, and a variety of wildlife. The trail is sometimes steep and muddy, but the dense foliage makes for an enchanting start. By late afternoon, you’ll reach Machame Camp, where you’ll camp for the night.
Day 3: Machame Camp (2,835m) to Shira Camp (3,750m)

The trek leaves the rainforest behind and enters the moorland zone, characterized by shorter vegetation and rocky landscapes. The trail becomes steeper, but the open terrain offers stunning views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding landscapes. You’ll reach Shira Camp on the plateau, where you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the mountain before settling in for the night.
Day 4: Shira Camp (3,750m) to Lava Tower (4,630m) to Barranco Camp (3,960m)

Day 5: Barranco Camp (3,960m) to Barafu Camp (4,640m)

You’ll begin the day by climbing the Barranco Wall, a challenging but non-technical climb that offers breathtaking views. Once at the top, the trail traverses across ridges and valleys until you reach Karanga Valley, where you’ll have a short rest. Continue trekking through alpine desert terrain to reach Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. After an early dinner, you’ll rest in preparation for the midnight summit push.
Day 6: Barafu Camp (4,640m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) and Descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m)
Distance: 19 km (7 km ascent, 12 km descent)
Hiking Time: 10-14 hours
Habitat: Arctic, Alpine Desert
Around midnight, you’ll begin your final ascent to Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail is steep and challenging, passing over scree and rocky paths. After several hours of climbing, you’ll reach Stella Point (5,739m) at the crater rim. From here, a short final push leads to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement and taking in the panoramic views, you’ll descend back to Barafu Camp for a rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp for the night.
Day 7: Mweka Camp (3,100m) to Mweka Gate (1,640m)

On your final day, you’ll trek through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates. A vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel for a well-deserved rest and celebration of your successful Kilimanjaro climb.
