Day 2: Moshi to Lemosho Gate and Trek to Big Tree Camp

Transfer to Lemosho Gate for registration. Begin your trek through lush rainforest to Big Tree Camp. Enjoy dinner and rest at the camp.

Day 3: Big Tree Camp to Shira Camp 1

Elevation: 2,650m to 3,500m
Distance: 8km
Time: 5-6 hours
Trek through the moorland zone to Shira Camp 1, with expansive views of the Shira Plateau. This is a perfect opportunity to acclimatize and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Day 4: Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2

Elevation: 3,500m to 3,900m
Distance: 6km
Time: 3-4 hours
A shorter trek today as you ascend across the Shira Plateau to Shira Camp 2. Spend the afternoon resting and acclimatizing to the higher altitude.

Day 5: Shira Camp 2 to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Elevation: 3,900m to 4,600m (Lava Tower) and descend to 3,950m (Barranco Camp)
Distance: 10km
Time: 6-8 hours
Climb to Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” approach helps your body adjust to the altitude, preparing you for the summit.

Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Ascend to Barafu Camp, your base camp before the final summit push. Rest, eat, and prepare for the challenging ascent to Uhuru Peak.

Day 8: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (Summit) and Descend to Mweka Camp

Elevation: 4,640m to 5,895m (Uhuru Peak) and descend to 3,100m (Mweka Camp)
Distance: 5km ascent, 12km descent
Time: 10-14 hours
Start your summit push in the early morning hours, reaching Uhuru Peak at sunrise. Celebrate your achievement at the summit before descending to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest.

Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and Departure
